Meadow death-camas (Toxicoscordion venenosum, previously included in a more broadly defined Zigadenus) is less frequently encountered than foothill death-camas (T. paniculatum) but no less deadly if consumed.  Unlike the latter species, individual (vs. clustered) flowers occur all the way to the bottom of the inflorescence, as likely to develop capsules as those higher up.

As indicated by the name, plants of meadow death-camas also tend to occur in moister sites than foothill death-camas.  Both species can be found in their preferred microhabitats in some localities; i.e., Currant Creek in West Valley, and Blacks Creek Reserve in South Boise.
